The traits of your animal totem will be seen in you, it will be felt by you, and it is heard speaking to you in your innermost. You feel it; you live by its traits.
Some animals have almost the same traits differing slightly in few personalities, manners and activities. The deer is linked to the arts, specifically poetry and music in ancient Celtic animal lore due to its graceful form. There are two aspects of deer – female (the Hind) and male (the Stag: see below) . The Hind (the red female deer), symbolizes femininity, subtlety and gracefulness. The Hind is believed to be associated with the pixie realm, tempting us to release the material trappings of so-called ‘civilization’, to go deep into the forest of magic, to explore our own magical and spiritual nature. Many stories tell of Hinds changing into women, often goddesses, to protect does from being hunted. The lesson to be gleaned here is that when we explore magic and spirituality, it must be with good intention, to harm no living being, but to enter the realm of the wild things in the spirit of love and communion. Both Celts and Native Americans prayed to the deer to give them a good hunt, and in return promised to take no more than was essential for the survival of the tribe. This helps remind us that our spirit of gentleness and unconditional love should extend to all species, not only our own. They also knew the deer to be savvy when it came to finding the best herbs. These earth-bound peoples would follow the deer to prime herb patches – many of which proved to be highly beneficial in their medicinal purposes.

In some Pagan paths, there is a correlation between the shape of a pair of horns and the crescent moon. The image of a stag with a full moon between his antlers represents both the male (the antlers) and the female (the moon) aspects of the Divine. Most people know, from popular literature of the importance of the bison or buffalo to the daily existence Native American peoples, but the more common and useful, animal was the deer. While the buffalo provided meat and heavy robes to help sustain life they were mainly limited to the tribal lands of the Plains Indians. The more universally found deer provided a cornucopia of items to the hunter. Besides the good meat and strong skins an amazing number tools came from the deer. The lower leg bone, for example, has been called by some nature’s Swiss Army Knife. The thick and sturdy bone can be used for an almost unlimited number of tools. These include knife handles; hide scraping tools, hairpins, fishhooks, games, flutes, decorations and sewing needles. The deer in fact provides an entire sewing kit with bone awl and sewing needles and sinew for thread. The deer was, to the ancient peoples, a true gift from the Creator.

Help me out, last night I dreamt of of my self walking in the dark from the top of the city to the bottom, I was scared and as I was walking the fear was overwhelming as if I was approaching some dark forces or danger, all of a sudden I heard a pig’s squealing right of my side, it sounded very angry, when I checked, it was bulldozing and digging the roots of three, all of a sudden if felt like it was protecting me from something because I ended up holding one of the heavy roots as my weapon, then when I looked down as approach the city, I sew dark birds flying up like they are running away from the path that I was walking on.
I couldn’t even notice the pig because it was in the dark as well.
